YOUR CORNER OF THE INTERNET
How to create a small-business advertisement
Choose one audience, a clear headline, readable artwork and a useful destination for your online billboard.
1. Choose one audience and one action
Decide who the ad is for and whether you want them to view a product, read your work or contact you. Link directly to the page that supports that action.
2. Lead with a concrete benefit
“Handmade ceramics for everyday coffee” tells people more than “The best shop ever.” Be specific and avoid claims you cannot support.
3. Keep artwork readable
Use a short headline, strong contrast and an image you own or have permission to use. Check that essential words remain readable on a phone. Put the main message into the billboard text fields too, rather than only inside an image.
4. Check the destination
Open your link on a phone, check that it works and make sure the advertised offer matches the destination. Do not require visitors to hunt for it.
5. Publish and learn
On The Square, choose an available tile, review your content and sign in to publish. One active 24-hour placement is free per account. Evaluate actual visits and inquiries before deciding whether to renew.
